Salt Water Management System
Salt chlorination is one of the most popular methods of sanitising pool water in Australia today. In simple terms, salt chlorination is the process of converting salt water into free chlorine, which in turn, kills the harmful viruses, bacteria and unsightly algae in your swimming pool. Once it has done its job, the free chlorine reverts back to salt. This method of sanitising pool water has been around for over three decades and its popularity is due to the fact that it is one of the easiest and most cost effective options available.
Reltech’s PC Series Salt Water Management System has taken this tried and proven salt chlorination technology to the next level. Controlling your pool/spa lighting and automatically dosing acid to balance your pool water’s pH levels (optional upgrade) are just some of the many features this unit has to offer a pool and spa owner.
Self-cleaning cells
• Reltech PC Series salt chlorinator cells automatically clean themselves, whilst they work. No more mixing dangerous chemicals, soaking cells and scraping off mineral deposits. Clean cells are more efficient and last longer, which means you’ll also save money.
Lower salt levels
• Reltech PC Series salt chlorinator cells are designed to operate on only half the salt level used by other brands.
Whilst most competitor salt chlorinators require 4000 to 6000ppm salt concentration, the PC Series only requires 3000ppm. This results in lighter and softer feeling water. It also minimises staining damage to pool interior surfaces, corrosive damage to pool heaters and pool surrounds.
• Whilst operating at lower salt levels, the Reltech PC Series salt chlorinator can efficiently work with either standard pool salt or mineral pool salt with blends of magnesium chloride, potassium chloride and sodium chloride. Mineral pool salts can further add to a swimmers’ experience and may offer several health benefits along with a softer and refreshing feel on your skin.
Timer backup & Memory backup
• Unlike mechanical timers and some old technology digital timers, the Reltech PC Series processor-based timer has its own rechargeable backup battery that keeps it running even when the power is disconnected.
• The Reltech PC Series uses a FLASH processor that remembers your programs even if the power supply is interrupted.
Low salt alarm
• The Reltech PC Series will also tell you when salt levels are low or if adjustments to running times need to be made due to seasonal temperature fluctuations.
Pump dry running protection
• In built safety features sense when there is no water flow in the salt chlorinator cell and will automatically switch power off to the cell to minimise build-up of dangerous Hydrogen gas. Sensors will also automatically switch pump off before any damage occurs. This safety feature will also turn pump off if filter is accidentally left on backwash for too long.
Timer for pool lighting
• The Reltech PC Series comes with 2 outlets for your pool lighting system, which can be programmed to turn your pool lights on and off automatically.
Optional pH control
• Reltech PC Series salt chlorinators are now available with optional pH control. This cutting edge technology does away with expensive and temperamental pH probes by using innovative algorithms to calculate and predict pH changes and dose acid when needed. The optional “plug’n’play” pH control module is easy to install and operate.
